CDE Teams
What is a CDE and what does it stand for?

CDE stands for Career Development Events which helps students develope the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market. There are 24 CDEs covering job skills in everything from communications to mechanics. Some events allow students to compete as indiviuals, while others allow them to compete as individuals, while others allow them to compete in teams.

We have many different teams that will available for many different people. Listed below are some different teams that Lac qui Parle FFA has. There is a CDE team for YOU!

 General Livestock

Participants in the Livestock Evaluation CDE cooperatively classify livestock as “keep” or “cull” for market and breeding purposes based on physical characteristics and records. They evaluate cattle, sheep, and pigs based on their overall stucture, qualitites, and the traits the animals contain. There are four animals in the ring and the contestant ranks the animals in the order which they think is the best animal. There are two classes on each species; may include market barrow, market/breeding guilts, market ewes, breeding ewes, bulls, breeding heifers, and steers.
