Andy Schreck is your 2011-2012 Chapter President. He’s the son of Al and Renaee. He lives on a farm north of Appleton where their family owns a beef cow operation of about 80 cows. His dad also owns land which he grows corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. His mom Renaee is a school nurse at LqPV High School. Andy has 3 other siblings; Makayla who is 22 and works at AgReliant Genetics Co. in Morris, Kelsey who is 21 and is a senior at SDSU in Brookings, Joey who is 18 and is a freshman at Ridgwater college in Willmar.
Andy’s individual goal as president is to go to State with the Livestock CDE team and work on records for SAE. His SAE is his owning his own herd of beef and show cattle which his goals are to expand the herd and raise cattle that are made for the show ring. He is currently in the Livestock CDE team. His favorite FFA memory is their officer retreat in Sioux Falls. His favorite food is steak and spaghetti. His favorite class is all the Ag classes. In the future, he plans on going to SDSU in Brookings, SD to study Animal Science or Farm Management. Andy is excited to be serving you as the 2011-2012 Chapter President!
Your 2011-2012 Vice President is Morgan Schmidt. Morgan is the daughter of Daren and Michelle. She has one brother, Cooper, who is in 6th grade; and one sister, Landrey, who is in the first grade at MMN Elementary. This year the Schmidt family is also honored with the oppurtunity to be hosting a foreign exchange student from Norway. Morgan and her family live on a farm south of Marietta. Daren owns and operates the family farm with the help of his brother, and Michelle is a loan officer at United FCS in Madison.
Morgan's goal as Vice President is to increase interest in the Ag Department, which will lead to increased membership. She has so much fun in FFA and wants others to experience it! She works at Thrifty White Pharmacy in Madison and also lifeguards on the side. In addition to working, she is currently planning her SAE project which will hopefully be ready to go mid-winter. Morgan is on the livestock CDE team. Her favorite FFA memories are the long bus rides to State Convention with the crazy Benson FFA kids!
Morgan's favorite class is any class in the Ag Department. In the future, Morgan plans on attending SDSU or NDSCS, majoring in Nursing.
Preston Kraft is the treasurer for the Lac qui Parle FFA Chapter for the 2011-2012 school year. Preston is the son of Don and Roxanne of rural Correll. Both of his parents are farmers. Preston has one sister, Amanda, and a brother Evan.
Preston is involved in the Wildlife CDE team. His goal for this FFA year is to bring the wildlife team to state! Preston's SAE is working for Stock Service in Correll. His favorite FFA memory is State Convention 2010.
Preston's favorite food is venison. His favorite calss is Ag Welding. He has not yet decided what he will do in the future.
Jalen Baldwin is one of your 2011-2012 Student Advisors! His parents are Curt and Tina Baldwin of Madison. His dad Curt is a farmer and works at Appleton Building Center. His mom Tina is an Early Childhood Family Ed Teacher and is also a Preschool Teacher. Jalen has 3 siblings, Ali who is 14, Brett who is 11, and Laura who is 9.
His individual goal as an officer is to encourage membership for the underclassmen and to place in top 10 at the state completion in Wildlife. Jalen’s SAE is helping his dad on the farm and working for the Lac qui Parle State Park. His favorite FFA memory is competing in State Wildlife Competion. His favorite food is Minnesota Valley Lutheran Church’s Potato Klub. His favorite class is any Ag class and his plan for the future is to attend SDSU in Brookings for a degree in Wildlife Management. Jalen looks forward to serving you!
Jared Roiland is your other 2011-2012 Student Advisor! He is the son of Mary and Gary Roiland of Madison. Mary is an X-ray Tech at Appleton Area Hospital and Gary is a city postal carrier and a crop farmer. Jared’s individual goal is to get more kids interested in agriculture and FFA activities. He has no siblings and he is on the Wildlife CDE team.
His SAE is working for his dad on the farm helping him plant, harvest, load and haul grain. He also works for Croatt Concrete in the summer. His favorite FFA memory is telling the state FFA participants that Mr. A was mad at them for destroying their hotel room and that they would have to pay for it, but later finding out it was a joke! His favorite food is any kind of meat and his favorite class is any Ag class. Jared plans to attend SDSU and majoring in Wildlife Fisheries. Jared looks forward to serving you!
